IIT Gandhinagar invites applications for postgraduate interdisciplinary programme in Society & Culture

The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar is inviting applications for admission into its postgraduate programme in Society and Culture for the academic year starting from July 2024.
Students with bachelor’s degrees in any discipline can apply through the following link — admissions.iitgn.ac.in/pgadmission/. The deadline for MA (Society and Culture) is February 10, 2024. The tests and interviews will be conducted on March 9 and 10, 2024.
Eligible candidates admitted to the MA program will be able to apply for the ‘On-Campus Employment Opportunities Program’ at IIT Gandhinagar. The selected students will be allowed to work for a maximum of 10 hours per week during the semester and 40 hours per week during the vacations including mid-semester breaks. The remuneration rates will be in the range of Rs 150-200 per hour and most of the students would start at the base rate and pay-hikes will be based on performance and engagement.
The institute also encourages the MA (Society and Culture) students to present their research work at international conferences abroad and provides travel scholarships of up to Rs 60,000.
Eligibility
The minimum criterion to apply is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55 per cent marks (or equivalent CPI/GPA). However, meeting the minimum application criterion will not guarantee admission to the programme.
Students who are awaiting final semester/year results and those who would be completing a Bachelor’s degree in the current are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility requirements for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be per the Supreme Court guidelines.
The shortlisting of the applications will be based on the overall credentials (marks in the bachelor’s programme, academic achievements, aptitude for studying society and culture, etc.). The eligibility criteria mentioned above are minimum expectations, and the committee may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting.
